I have loved the the Himalayas, and the Nepalese people, for a very long time. When Tashi told me the appalling story of young girls being trafficked to India I knew something had to be done to stop it. My background is in education, and I have a strong belief in the power of education to change people’s lives, so when Tashi raised the suggestion of the Nepal Green Tara Foundation with me I was happy to do what ever I could to get the Foundation’s first school built. From this first school the Foundation has gone from strength to strength and has now educated hundreds of Nepalese children who are playing important roles within their own communities and beyond.

Mr Appa Lhakpa Sherpa
Being a part of NGTF for over 7 years has truly been a blessing for me. My key contribution is being been able to share my knowledge about coffee with multiple communities and farmers, I feel that this has helped villagers attain a better source of income and has also encouraged a lot more farmers to start growing coffee. Other notable moments would be, the earthquake disaster of 2015 when we went to multiple districts over several months distributing food, medicines, clothes etc. and now with this ongoing pandemic we have (since it’s onset) and will continue to support and provide basic necessities to the ones in need. NGTF has helped me grow as a person, by not only embracing those in need but also motivating me to chase my ambition and passion.
